Meet the Artist

Avraham Vofsi (b. 1989, Australia) is an Israel-based Jewish artist working in classical oil painting. Born in Melbourne to American parents, his work explores Jewish history, identity, and survival through narrative figuration and observational realism. His work has been shown internationally and is held in the permanent collections of the State Library of Victoria, the Jewish Museum of Australia, and the Jewish Museum of Florida. In 2022, he was a finalist for Australia's Archibald Prize. He made aliyah in August 2023 and is currently exploring Jewish history through diaspora synagogues and ritual objects.
